LSOD will attend at least 3 dance competitions and pick
one Nationals out of the three to attend.
Eligibility
Not all classes are eligible to compete. Based on the quality
of choreography and technical execution of the students;
classes are chosen by the director to compete in regional
competitions. All competition fees must be paid and up to
date in order to qualify to compete. Costumes must be paid in
full.
Solo’s & Duo’s
All Solo’s and Duo’s must be enrolled in at least
one Ballet class in order to compete.
Specials
Choreographers are artists and inspiration may strike at any
given time. Teachers may select certain students to
participate in special choreography. With this, costume and
competition fees also apply.
Choreographers
As a soloist you have the opportunity to select your own
choreographer. A list of choreographers will be posted.
Booking rehearsal time will be up to you and your
choreographer.
6 rehearsals will be booked in ½ hour brackets. The
total cost for choreography/ rehearsals is $110.00. Any
additional time booked will be charged at $20.00 an hr.
Early Choreography
You may have the option of having your solo choreographed
over the summer. That way the soloist will have a longer time
to perfect their dance before competition. Otherwise
choreographers can be booked in the Fall as normal.
*As a Competition dancer you stand as a representation of
the School and its morals and values. All Competition Dancers
must adhere to all of the studio rules and serve as a role
model for other students in and out of the school.
